About Inge Jabara and the Lunaria Pods show garden
Show exhibitor Inge Jabara is an internationally renowned designer famed for her tranquil, serene and mesmerising show gardens. Inge delighted the crowds at the 2023 Melbourne Flower & Garden Show with her unique, silver medal award-winning ‘Lunaria Pods’ show garden. Featuring rustic Millboard Driftwood decking, bespoke ornamental statues, a statement water feature and vibrant, vivid floral displays, the spectacle was inspired by the Lunaria biennis plant.
The structure and design of the garden were heavily influenced by the shape of the pods of the plant and the way in which light streams through the delicate, paper-like petals of the flowers. Using a varied materials board and innovative, sustainable design concepts, Inge succeeded in wowing audiences. The design is dominated by three pods, which are adorned with plants, flowers and foliage, then connected via washed Millboard driftwood decking to mimic Lunaria pods and branches.
Inge Jabara approached Concept Materials to provide Millboard composite decking for her Lunaria Pods landscape design at the 2023 Melbourne International Garden and Flower Show. The distinctive Millboard Driftwood decking instantly caught her eye and captured her imagination.
With its beautiful understated, natural aesthetics, the weathered, sea-washed decking was the perfect choice for the boardwalk, tying the three-pod design together seamlessly. Weathered Oak decking boards offer all the benefits of modern deck composite decking while providing a rustic look synonymous with the heritage and timeless elegance and strength of aged oak. Providing a sun-drenched, textured finish, Millboard Driftwood decking delivers the beauty of natural wood while offering the functionality, resilience and safety of composite decking.
Concept Materials is a sought-after distributor to landscapers, planners and architects. It was a huge honour to supply Millboard decking for Inge Jabara’s incredible, mesmeric, award-winning Lunaria Pod garden design and to see Millboard decking showcased so magnificently in front of over 100,000 enthusiastic visitors.
