Millboard decking brings the Hamptons to this Perth coastal home

Nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Cottesloe Beach, this architectural masterpiece constructed by HIA & Zorzi builders, stands as a beacon of coastal luxury and timeless elegance. From its limed oak deck surrounding the pool to its stunning Millboard burnt cedar vertical cladding, every detail of this dream home was meticulously crafted to marry style with durability, offering its residents a sanctuary that effortlessly withstands the elements of its seaside location.

A Closer Look At The Cottesloe Beach Project

With a commanding thirty-metre frontage to Marine Parade, the design of this residence was conceived to embrace the awe-inspiring ocean views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Outdoor living spaces take centre stage, with an elevated swimming pool, sunken seating area, and alfresco dining space offering unobstructed vistas all the way to Rottnest Island. Here, relaxation knows no bounds as gentle sea breezes and the soothing sound of waves create an ambiance of serenity and tranquillity.

The architectural vision for this home was bold and distinctive, marrying off-form concrete and dark timber-like composite cladding to create a striking contrast against the light, bright composite decking and softer palette elements within. But beyond aesthetics, it was essential to select materials that could withstand the harsh coastal conditions without compromising on style or requiring constant maintenance.

Quality Building Materials for Durability

Enter Millboard composite decking. Designed to withstand the rigours of coastal living, Millboard’s Limed Oak Enhanced Grain decking offered the perfect solution for the poolside deck and sunken seating area. Its blend of limestone colours and subtle creme hues not only adds sophistication to the outdoor space but also seamlessly transitions from indoors to outdoors, complementing the Hampton-style aesthetic effortlessly.

For vertical cladding, we opted for Millboard Burnt Cedar decking boards, adding depth and character to the raw concrete facade of the home. This choice not only enhanced the architectural appeal of the residence but also ensured long-term durability in the face of Perth’s coastal climate.

Beautiful Today, Beautiful Tomorrow

In a coastal environment where salt-laden winds and relentless sun pose constant challenges, durability is paramount. Traditional decking materials like timber often succumb to the elements, requiring frequent maintenance and upkeep. However, composite decking materials offer a superior alternative, combining the beauty of natural wood with the resilience of modern technology.

By choosing premium composite decking, they not only achieved a stunning visual aesthetic but also ensured that our dream home would remain beautiful and functional for years to come. From scorching summers to wet and windy winters, this coastal haven is built to withstand it all, allowing its residents to enjoy the unparalleled beauty of Cottesloe Beach without compromise.

In the end, the journey to create the perfect dream home was a testament to the power of quality materials and thoughtful design. With materials such as Millboard, they transformed a vision of coastal luxury into a reality, proving that durability and style can coexist harmoniously in even the most challenging of environments.
